About
Brew and Wine Hobby
We cannot pretend this store has always been perfect. There have been
some ups and downs, so we’d like to offer a quick history: Brew and
Wine Hobby gained notoriety by its excellent prices for years. Larry,
the original owner, did his best to keep everything as low as
possible. Larry sold the store in 2008 to Dennis, and the tradition
continued. Dennis wanted something more: he wanted to be known for
customer service. To that end, he hired Rich.
For the past couple of years, Rich has been enjoying a dream job:
talking about wine and beer all day! Almost a year ago the dream began
to sour as the health of the business declined. This is when Bill
entered the picture. Bill introduced himself to Rich while asking
“what is going on here? The shelves are getting empty!” While a good
story must have some drama, please understand while we omit the
details. Bill and Rich now own the store. Bill’s business savvy has
allowed us to come back together quickly, and Rich’s dream job just
got better: he can supply everyone with the great stuff he’s been
talking about.
Rich
Rich has been making and tasting wine for all of his adult life. A
self-professed geek (but not too much a snob), he entered the realm of
brewing when he was asked to work at Brew and Wine Hobby. While he has
enjoyed a good deal of success in his brewing, he’s constantly looking
to perfect techniques and expand his experience. Rich believes anyone
can make good beer or good wine at home, and is dedicated to helping
anyone through any process.
Bill
Bill has approximately seven years beer making experience and five years making wine. He loves to teach other about making anything. He grew up as a back yard farmer, appreciating good food from local sources. This store is a dream come true for him, where he can help others learn to craft wines and beers to share with their friends and family. “If you can follow some simple steps you too can make a quality wine or beer! If you are a little bit more persistent you can make a good mead
”.
